Monterey, California.
In 1945 author John Steinbeck immortalized the one mile stretch that
was Ocean View Avenue in Monterey with his book ‘Cannery Row.’ Steinbeck
modeled his famous fictional character ‘Doc’ in his novels ‘Cannery
Row’ and ‘Sweet Thursday’ on his friend and mentor Ed Ricketts.
